Hey There! I have been MIA on the blog for most of the summer for lots of different reasons but I’m hoping to stick around from September onwards on a more organised schedule. Why have I been gone? Well… I’m moving! I can’t believe it is finally time for me to start packing up my life as a student. I’m coming to the end of my tenancy in my student halls flat and I am so sad about it. I’ve loved living here on the whole and learned so much from living alone. At the moment I’m sat surrounded by…

University | I’m a graduate!

University | I’m a graduate!

Hi Everyone! I’m back! I’ve taken a really long hiatus on this blog just whilst I finish up university. After all the stress of third year and hand-ins I needed some time to figure out a few things and just to breathe. I also definitely lost my blogging mojo and I completely blame that on the fact that blogging is now an industry/job. (more on that later!) But let’s get back to the exciting news!! I  AM FINALLY A GRADUATE! On Monday I graduated from Northumbria with BA (honours) in Media and Journalism and I am honestly so proud of…

How Northumbria changed me.. ¦ Studying Journalism at Northumbria

How Northumbria changed me.. ¦ Studying Journalism at Northumbria

I can’t quite believe that it’s almost the end of my third year at Northumbria. In a few short months I will have graduated and be going out into the wide world… I can’t quite believe it. (Or maybe i’ll stay and do a masters, who knows?) I thought I would write a post summing up my experience here at Northumbria. I have a little whil left which is going to be so busy with deadlines and graduation prep, so it makes sense to do it now. I also want to have a blog post to look back at. As…

How to be organised at university

How to be organised at university

Coming away to university was a huge shock to my system and I was used to living away from home and keeping myself organised. Uni throws you in at the deep end with lots to do and modules to keep track of as well as a busy social calendar. So I thought I’d share a few tips from myself and some uni friends that have helped us all stay more organised and kept us sane! 1. Always carry a bag  My Roxy bag is my lifesaver. Strong, sturdy and has survived a couple of years of uni commuting with me.…

Journalism: My First Milestones!

Journalism: My First Milestones!

There is something so amazing about reaching milestones at work. When I started my media and journalism degree I was so nervous. I wasn’t sure if I was making the right move and determined to work hard to find something for me. Now two years later, I’ve started the third year of my degree. I am so happy with my choice. I’ve come along way, particularly in the past year and I can’t wait to see what else I can get up to. My first huge milestone was passing my shorthand exam. I didn’t think I’d be able to pass…

TN Hockey meet Alex Danson!

TN Hockey meet Alex Danson!

Yesterday was one of the best days of my year so far. I got an email asking me to do something for my sports internship and I immediately said yes and stuck my cameras on charge. When I woke up that morning I had no idea I was going to meet an Olympic athlete… The TN hockey team got a wonderful visit from Alex Danson, who had just arrived back from Rio 2016 after winning Gold! They were all so excited to meet her and all got to take selfies and ask questions with her as well as experience a…

Blossoms at the Freshers Ball

Blossoms at the Freshers Ball

Blossoms came to play at the Fresher’s ball!… Our Fresher’s ball this year was absolutely amazing! The media team headed there with our cameras as well as our formal wear and got right in there with the photography and filming. Honestly one of the funniest evenings of my life! We filmed a few interviews, did some ball pool interviews and danced along to Blossoms and Sigma! Blossoms were our opening act and I’d only listened to them in the past couple of weeks so that I knew what i was going along to and i was pleasantly surprised that I…

FRESHERS: UV RAVE

FRESHERS: UV RAVE

Saturday night was the start of my role as member of the freshers media team, kicking off with the UV rave! Last night was my first night working for the freshers media team. I told myself to sign up for it two years ago and I finally did! So with my freshers media tee, I set off to campus with my camera and gopro.  The UV rave was the first big night of freshers this year with Anto Sharp from Vine coming in to special guest during it. I did a small bit of presenting for NSU:TV, enough to dip…

The Greatest Day Ever!

The Greatest Day Ever!

We all have exams that seem an upward struggle. A module that just always seems to get in our way and that we can’t wrap our heads around.  For me last year, this was my Shorthand exam. I started the year slightly later than the other first years as there were a few admin problems switching courses, causing me to miss my first shorthand class. Throughout the year I struggled with attendance due to medical issues and in the exam, I was hit with the worst exam anxiety I’ve had in years. The long and short of it, I failed…
