Fitness | 25 by 25 and Starting my weight loss journey

25 by 25.

This is my weight loss goal. 25lbs weight loss by my 25th birthday.

So that’s around 16 weeks left. I’ve been carefully watching my diet and trying to exercise more. At the moment most of my exercise is coming from redecorating the house! A lot of hard graft getting the place cleaned, gutted, walls prepped for painting and then the painting itself. In the next few weeks, I’ll be moving in properly and then the Ikea furniture struggle will begin again!

I decided it was time to make a big change when I realised that I had climbed back up to my old plateau weight of 235. That is like my trigger number. I saw it and couldn’t believe it but at the same time it made so much sense. Of course, I could see the extra weight in my face but tried to ignore it.

I’ve decided to focus on my weight loss journey at the moment because of a lot of stress. I notice that once I’ve done exercise, everything else in the day seems easy enough. With writing my dissertation, packing up to move and hunting for a full time job, I’d say right now I’ve got a lot on my plate. I think exercising more frequently will really help me to stay calm and focused for these busy couple of months ahead!

I’m going back to using myfitnesspal to log my food and exercise intake, and for now, using my Polar A300 to track my workouts and steps. I’m hoping to buy myself an apple watch once I’m working full time after university, but my Polar A300 is a beast. I’ve had it for a good few years now and it’s still going strong! A great product for a great price- just a little chunky on the wrist for everyday wear but oh well.

I’ve decided to start  documenting my journey in greater detail over on my fitness instagram, I would really love it if you’re interested to give it a follow. Leave me a comment under my posts if you’ve come from my blog, and I really want people’s fitness journeys to follow, so do leave your instagram handles.

I’m hoping to get out more on my bike mostly. I know I need to get back in the gym and stay there. But my confidence is so low, which just shows me that something needs to change. Once I’m fully moved in with Rob, I’ll be able to sort out more of a schedule but the next couple of months is going to be interesting! With moving house and finishing university, my schedule is really up and down and my gym membership will be ending- so it’ll be time to find a new one! I will keep you guys updated!

I’m going to blog a couple of times a month about my journey. The highs and the lows I think! They’re all going into a ’25 by 25′ series until my birthday then after that we shall see where I go. It’s all going to be blogging on the fly- so I’m not really sure what content I can promise. I doubt you’ll find many salad recipes or anything here, but I cannot wait to show some progress photos.

I miss going out on my bike, but it also scares me. This is something I want to work on! I’m going to be making a list of non-scale victories that I want to achieve. But also going to document ones that appear that I wasn’t aiming for- as they are some of the best side effects of weight loss.

Wish me luck. I’m a couple of weeks in and I can’t wait to see this progresses. I may even get to vlogging it at some point once I join a gym that allows filming.

See you guys at the next ramble of a post ( I did write this at midnight so please forgive me if it seems a mad ramble!)
