Newcastle is going through some amazing changes right now with the introduction of plenty of new exciting things to see and do. The newest place to arrive is Antler.
I was pretty excited to be invited to the VIP Launch for Antler, the new alpine themed bar in Newcastle. Inspired by the alpine ski lodges from Austria and Switzerland and serving Bavarian food, it’s definitely going to be an exciting addition to the Newcastle nightlife.
Located at 55 Degrees North, it’s right in the centre of the city. A few minutes walk from either Central Station or Monument, and also close to both universities, it’s going to be a popular place. It also boasts views of the iconic Tyne Bridge.
Abbie and I arrived to welcome drinks of Prosecco, G&T’s and orange juice and once we got them, we headed inside and took a seat.
I’m such a fan of the decor in Antler, you really do feel like you’ve escaped into a ski chalet. I can see it being very popular when the winter comes around. Warm wood everywhere, rustic decor, cool prints and a stage at the end for live entertainment.
Antler plans to host different types of events, everything from cocktail masterclasses to live music, which changes week to week so keep an eye out for their plans.
Antler Newcastle : The Menu
Whilst we sipped on our drinks, waiters brought round samples of the menu. Everything from bratwurst, to meatballs, to pizza and bbq chicken wings!
The menu is inspired by cuisine from Switzerland, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. The bread and pizza are made on site in the bakery and pizza oven.
The food is amazing and I will definitely be returning to try more of it, especially the BBQ chicken wings!
I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the menu and saw how good the prices are, so I can see it being a popular night out.
If this has tempted to you to try Antler, check out their full menu here.
The evening was full of drinks and meeting other Newcastle bloggers whilst watching the incredible juggling and dancing going on on the stage. We also got to meet the special guest of the evening, Eddie the Eagle!
