How to get the perfect nude lip for less than £10

The nude lip is the everyday statement. The ‘my lips but better’ look that can make you feel more confident and allow you to shape your lips to how you want them to look. My lips can often be quite pale and lacking colour so I sometimes use nude tones and if I want some extra colour I dab on some light pink lipstick to the centre. Huge thank you to IntheFrow for that makeup time to create an ombre lip!

Since being at university, I’ve been wearing makeup a lot more often. The only downside is the student budget I’m living on. I can’t afford all the beautiful designer brands I see big bloggers and youtubers using so I’ve looked around for cheaper dupes. I have heard so much good stuff about NYX . Primark has always been a great place to get cheaper dupes and I got this nude lip liner first and started looking for a lipstick to go with it.

I really want some of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks, but on a student budget, they’re not going to be a regular purchase! So I was really pleased to find NYX were launching in Boots.

I’ve been wanting to try NYX and being on a student budget, it made perfect sense to see if they are as good as people say they are. I love that this is a vegan brand too, making it just tick every box I have. Vegan, affordable and great quality!

I was after a liquid lipstick because I hate the idea of smudging my lipstick and really glossy lipsticks I feel fade easily.

This is NYX Lingerie in ‘Lace Detail’ and I love it for everyday wear, teamed with a £1 Nude lip liner from Primark. The liquid lipstick isn’t goopy or drying! It goes on easy and isn’t watery and the applicator is a great size, meaning that you don’t have to go over your lips multiple times to get the consistency right. When it dries, it doesn’t crack and I’ve noticed it lasting hours. To make sure it lasts I’ve sprayed my makeup with my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and it lasts all day. The only issue I’ve found is needing to reapply it after a big meal, but that’s at most once a day! Which is far less than other lipsticks I’ve had in my collection. Matt lipsticks are the way forward! I’m so impressed with them for the price! An everyday lipstick look for less than £8!

Perfect for a student budget! I’ve now got quite the little NYX collection going as they’re so affordable. I also really love their butter lip glosses over the top to add shine!
